🔥 About BBQ Pete – From a Bottle of Sauce to a Passion for BBQ 🍖
My brother liked feeding goats.
I had bigger ideas.
I had bigger ideas.
🔥It all started with a bottle of BBQ sauce.
For my birthday one year, my sister Amy handed me a bottle and said, “Because why not?” Attached were some simple instructions:
1️⃣ Indirect grill the ribs.
2️⃣ Sauce and wrap in foil to steam.
3️⃣ Unwrap and caramelize the sauce over indirect heat.
I followed the steps, served up a rack of ribs to my wife, her dad, and a few friends, and they raved about them. Maybe they weren’t the best ribs ever, but they were damn good—and I made them. That’s when it hit me:
🔥 Making people happy with food is fun.
And so began my obsession with BBQ.
🔥 The Birth of Ang & Pete’s BBQ
My wife Angela and I took our love for BBQ to the next level and launched our own BBQ catering business. We had a blast, and people loved our food. From smoked brisket to pulled pork and ribs, we served up BBQ feasts that brought people together.
But we quickly realized something:
✔ BBQ catering isn’t a part-time gig.
✔ We weren’t ready to quit our day jobs.
✔ We loved BBQ too much to let it become just another job.
So, we made a decision: BBQ would stay fun. Now, we fire up the smoker for friends, family, and the occasional event, keeping our passion for cooking alive without the stress of running a business.
🔥 Why Does Everyone Love Pete’s Meat?
One of my favorite moments came during a football Sunday BBQ at our house. Our close friends’ 7-year-old son sat at the table, rib in hand, face covered in sauce, and asked the legendary question:
“Why does everyone love Pete’s meat?”
And honestly? That’s what BBQ is all about. Great food, great company, and unforgettable moments.
🔥 So grab a plate, pull up a chair, and let’s get cooking! 🔥
